Sorry about the major downtime folks! We had to do an unexpected server move which created some headaches and increased our downtime by at least a day or two. Everything is up now and working.

Greetings folks! With Anime-Wiki.Org slowly expanding and becoming settled in the Anime Internet world, I have come to the conclusion that it would be worthwhile exploring the prospect of expanding our wiki into Multiple Languages. I am open to all suggestions for the moment, although Japanese, Mandarin, German and French wiki's would be nice (not in any particular order). If you believe that you could provide assistance in this matter, please contact me: webmaster@jasio.net or jasio@anime-wiki.org. I would most likely require some kind of incentive such as 'X' amount of signatures from a particular language community stating "Yes, we support the idea of an Anime Wiki in X Language and we will endeavor to help it expand...".
If I do decide to go ahead with a new language(s) the wiki is already prepared to handle multiple languages and a single logon system has been tested, which means your current accounts will work on all the other language wikis without the need to register again. Anime-Wiki.Org would provide all the necessary resources to operate said wiki.
Feel free to discuss this Here or e-mail me. Thanks!

Finally found a new anti-spam captcha that works. It has now been implemented on all new pages, edits, talk pages etc in order to help curb the recent influx of spam on our wiki. The project has been moving along very well, as of September 2007 we exceed 25,000 unique IP hits per month and have been gaining ground on 35,000 unique IP hits which we hope to hit by the end of the year. The backend has also undergone an upgrade, minor bug fixes here and there and some stability issues have been resolved.

Haven't updated in a long time. As you can see, there's a new layout. The backend will be undergoing maintenance/upgrades within the next few days and some new extensions/upgrades may find their way into Anime-Wiki after the maintenance is complete. Forums will be coming back online within the next few days, this time with some security features to keep spambots out. Thanks to all those to continue to contribute to our project, your efforts are very much appreciated.

Heya! The website has been upgraded to MediaWiki 2.x alpha bleeding-edge (yes I love experimental builds). Everything seems to be running very smoothly and without any fuss. A new copyright template has been added "Wikipedia". Please use it when citing or using content from Wikipedia. Our wiki has been growing slowly, but steadily. As always, thanks go out to all of you who contribute (and continue to).

Backend updated to latest 1.9 bleeding edge tree. The website was down for a few hours (500 Internal Error) due to a php_suexec change on the server that I didn't know about. Most of the wiki seems to be running fine now. A few errors here and there, but I am looking into it. We have now SURPASSED 500 pages of true content!. Thanks to all those who added entries, and supported and/or continue to support this project.

Backend has been updated to a bleeding-edge 1.9 Alpha release (SVN 10/31/06). This /should/ alleviate some issues we've been having with 1.8.2 and Parser Functions. Also, a new AJAX based Category Tree extension has been installed, check it out!

Backend has been updated to stable 1.8.2 tree. Blogs taken offline due to version incompatiblity; this is being investigated. Friendly-URLs do not work due to phpsuexec issues; this is being looked into as well [FIXED]. Parser functions installed.

A new 'blog' feature has been added to Anime-Wiki.Org. When logged in, you'll notice a 'my blog' button at the top right hand menu. This feature is considered 'bleeding edge' or 'fairly unstable' therefore don't be suprised if bugs occur. However, feel free to use it, it is the best way to hunt down bugs and make suggestions.

Image uploads have been enabled again. The image uploads page now has a drop-down box for choosing a License Scheme for the image. Please select a license which best suits the file that you have uploaded. The Anime-Wiki.Org backend will automatically append a special copyright tag in order to maintain a Fair Use environment.

Anime-Wiki would like to extend their sincerest thanks to our top 4 most active contributors for March/April: Ellmaris, Merovee, Unit Zero, and Arron Blade. They have gone above the call, and invested many hours in improving our content and expanding our wiki. Our hats off to you good sirs.

Thanks to the time and effort invested by a few very dedicated members, the wiki is growing very nicely. Don't forget that we have an IRC Channel, which is empty... and could use some idlers. The forums will be up within 24-48 hours (max).

Downtime is bad. Sorry about that folks. Server decided to partially explode/vaporize into a ball of fiery death and what-not. All is well now.

In light of recent spambot activity on the wiki, I have gone ahead and installed a spamblock protection system for the wiki. Not sure how effective it will be, however it is in full log mode so we will know soon enough if it is actively blocking these pesky little buggers.

Heya! We're still alive and kicking. However, *please* register with our wiki if you plan on adding/editing. This way we can track your changes by your username, rather than your IP. The advantage of registering with us is simple: You'll be able to track the amount of changes you have made, as well as let others know that you are contributing. The registration process is quick, and painless :)
