this is the list of characters for shaman king:
Asakura Yoh
Yoh is the main protagonist of shaman king Yoh's atittude is laidback and relaxed
(unless he's training under the supervision of his itako shaman fiancé Anna kyoyama that is!)
He likes to listen music and relax in calm places like a cemetery. his rival is the chinese shaman :Tao Ren (in chinese: Dáo lian)
His primary spirit is a samurai who died in the muromachi Era(1334-1467)of japan. the name of the samurai spirit is Amidamaru. Amida is a part of a buddhist prayer and Maru is a common ending for samurai. he haunted the graveyard of funbari hill for over 600 years. Yoh's oversoul with amidamaru is a katana with the flame spirit of Amidamaru.

Oyamada Manta
Manta(calledMorty in the animé) is yoh's best friend. Unlike yoh, Manta can only see spirits. However during the shaman fight against Hao in the shrine of patch village, Manta became a shaman by integrating Amidamaru's Best friend and swordsmithe Mosuke in his laptop. The laptop is then changed into a huge hammer and has tremendous power. Proof of it's power is seen in episode 63,because Manta smashes two shikigami spirits in the ground.Manta can use his Oversoul only a limited amount of time because his Mana is pretty low.
Tao Ren
Ren is (as i said earlier) Yoh's Rival. Ren's name is spoken in chinese as : Dáo lian. Ren has a grudge against people was created because Ren was told that Humans are nothing but dirty creatures that need to wiped out from existence,therefore ren's mission to become shaman king is to cleanse the earth by destroying everthing filthy to the earth. (that sounds as if he is a tree-hugging hippie or something...) Ren's spirit is a chinese Warlord named Bason(in Mandarin-chinese this is: Ma-sun). Bason and Ren's Weapon is an Ancient chinese Halberd named in japanese: Kwan-Dao this is in chinese Guan-Dao. After the fight against his father Tao yuán, Ren recieves a sword named Bao ling*. (*translation: Jewelled Thunder) Ren Became one of yoh's friends before the fight against his father.
Faust VIII
As you probably guessed Faust VIII is a Descendant of The faust, the Man who made a pact with the devil.
Faust is a widower who lost his wife one evening they moved into there new home.
he tried to desperately save his wife (who is named Eliza) but he failed.
